Our mission has been clear from the start: build a team of passionate and knowledgeable individuals dedicated to helping our clients improve their existing landscapes or create new designs.
OUR STORY
The story of Agave LD began in 1997 when Miguel Carranza founded what was then known as Carranza Landscape Services. Miguel and his wife, Patricia Carranza, raised four children, all of whom are now part of our family-run business. In 2014, we rebranded the company as Agave LD, marking a significant expansion.
Looking ahead, we’re excited to keep serving our clients and expanding our reach to more communities. Our commitment to beautiful and well-crafted landscapes remains as strong as ever.
Founders
Edwin Carranza
Design/ Build Director
Born and raised in Austin, TX.
His love for the outdoors started at a young age. Memories of going to the park and being outdoors were stepping stones to his career. Being the oldest brother, leadership came naturally, but it was something he wanted to develop further in efforts to expand the family business. Beautiful landscapes and design were something he was always fond of.
He holds his degree in Drafting and Design and Horticulture. His career spans from landscape design, construction, and the management of high-end residential properties to working in a civil engineering firm.
At Agave LD, he serves as a valued business partner, overseeing the design-build division and various other facets of the business. His love for landscaping goes beyond his profession since it’s also a source of peace for him.
Outside of work, he enjoys reading, savoring culinary adventures at new restaurants, and cherishing quality time with his wife and two daughters. His diverse interests and leadership make him an essential part of our team.

Erik Carranza
Sales Director
Born and raised in Austin, TX.
Growing up in the family business cultivated his love for landscaping as he saw the arduous work behind beautiful lawns and landscapes. This led him to seamlessly blend his passion for numbers with his love for landscapes, driving him to explore innovative avenues for expanding the family business and leaving a more profound imprint on the community.
In Agave LD, he wears multiple hats, but his main role as a Sales Director is to manage the sales team and ensure they are meeting their monthly goals. He also works on systematizing different tasks that are done on a daily basis throughout the company to improve efficiency as a company. He also meets with our management team to make sure that all divisions are meeting quarterly goals. He also holds his Landscape Irrigation License for the State of Texas.
In his free time, he loves taking long walks, reading books, listening to podcasts, and dining out—all of this alongside the precious company of his wife.

Being the youngest was not an obstacle but an advantage for him as he continued growing his leadership skills in the industry. At Agave LD, he takes charge of the entire maintenance division, handles all scheduling, manages crews, and ensures profitability.
He has always had a passion for cars and trucks, so outside of work, he enjoys taking care of his vehicles and spending quality time with his wife.

Born in Coahuila, Mexico, and raised in Bastrop, TX.
With a diverse background spanning six years in the fields of banking, customer service, client management, accounting, and overseeing multiple locations, Diana brings a wealth of experience to the Agave LD team.
At Agave LD, Diana plays a crucial role in managing HR activities and operations. Her journey at Agave began when she took on the position of lead HR, becoming a valuable asset in handling employee relations. Inspired by her role and determined to excel, she obtained her HR management certificate at the UT Center of Professional Education.
In her free time, she finds joy in attending horse races and spending quality time with her family.

Her remarkable journey includes leading the first girls’ robotics team in the Austin District, where they made a notable mark in the robotics community. This experience ignited her passion for making a meaningful impact on the world.
She is diligently pursuing her Marketing and Economics degree, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and academic excellence. As the eldest member of her family, she serves as a role model, setting a positive example for her siblings and loved ones.
Her expertise in Adobe software and photography and her sociability make her an indispensable asset to the Agave LD team.

Ebisael Cruz
Construction Office Assistant
Born and raised in San Sebastian, Puerto Rico.
Bachelor’s in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Puerto Rico.
He had a five-year tenure as an architect in Ecuador, during which he contributed his expertise to an esteemed architectural firm. Subsequently, he transitioned into the realm of educational administration, serving in both the private and public sectors.
He then came to Texas to work in a landscape design firm and decided to pursue an education in Spain, where he obtained his Master's in Architectural Rehabilitation. This paved the way for his role at Agave LD; he assists in CAD drafting, procurement of materials, taking site measurements, and helping our construction office manager where necessary.
Outside of work, he enjoys sports such as baseball and volleyball, enjoys keeping active at the gym, and loves history and reading. He also finds leisure in watching movies and traveling. It is important to note that he loves chocolate.

Born and raised in Maracaibo, Venezuela.
Obtained his Bachelor's in Architecture at the University of Rafael Urdaneta later on, his Master’s degree in Project Manager at URU and then expanded his knowledge by obtaining his specialization in Project Management at the University of Columbia.
In Venezuela, he kick-started his career as an architectural designer in the area of educational K-12 establishments. He then became an architectural designer for private constructions, custom homes, residential, and mixed-use buildings under the supervision of a national award architect.
He then came to the United States in 2017, and two years later, he started working as a project manager/ landscape designer, making his way to Agave LD, where he contributed as our construction project manager.
His primary responsibilities involve the comprehensive management of all construction projects, transforming each design concept into a tangible reality for our esteemed clients.
With unwavering commitment, he guarantees that every task is meticulously executed to exact specifications and adheres to stringent timelines. His daily endeavors involve close collaboration with our talented designers, dedicated construction crews, trusted contractors, and reliable vendors, all working harmoniously to consistently deliver projects of the highest quality.
He finds enjoyment in staying active through sports and has a passion for attending live music performances at a range of different venues. When he’s not out and about, he likes to tackle various DIY projects around his home. Additionally, he loves spending time with his girlfriend.

At Agave LD, he collaborates closely with technicians to install and oversee irrigation systems, ensuring that plants thrive both during and after project construction. His keen coordination skills contribute to efficient project monitoring.
He highly values feedback and recognizes the unique contributions of each irrigation team member, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. His dedication to keeping landscapes vibrant and healthy is a testament to his commitment to excellence.

Born and raised in Woodbury, Minnesota.
She obtained and achieved her Bachelor of Science in Landscape Architecture, graduating cum laude in 2020.
She grew and strengthened her skills and knowledge of design and landscape architecture while interning and working for Studio M, a Landscape Architecture firm in Arizona.
For the past three years, she has been a landscape designer at Agave LD, where her responsibilities include evaluating client projects, conducting on-site consultations, creating detailed design proposals with 3D and 2D models, plant and material lists, and cost estimates. She also manages project revisions to meet client requirements and oversees project execution to ensure a seamless design implementation.
She enjoys anything outdoors and loves spending time with her family and 3 dogs! She enjoys hiking, camping, traveling and movie nights.

She obtained her Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from Texas Tech University. She was originally introduced to Landscape Architecture through a Civil Engineering internship. Eventually, she decided to dive in and pursue this career. Designing the outdoors with consideration for nature truly sparked her interest.
She started her career in estimating enhancement projects. Eventually, she worked her way up the commercial landscape development sector, addressing the Houston market. One of her most significant wins included the TMC3 project, making it a memorable experience for her. Although that experience proved to be rewarding, she found herself gravitating towards design.
Now, she finds herself able to translate all of the knowledge gained from her previous experience while working hand-in-hand with clients to design their space. She enjoys collaborating with clients, offering solutions to their landscape needs, and designing a space that they can truly enjoy.
As far as personal hobbies, she enjoys spending time with family and living new experiences, whether that includes traveling, trying new restaurants, going to events, etc.―anything that can expand her knowledge and inspire future designs.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon and furthered her education with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington.
With a background in internships focused on master plan design, perspective rendering, and CAD file editing, she brings a wealth of knowledge to her role as a landscape designer assistant at Agave LD.
Beyond her profession, she’s an avid traveler and photographer, always eager to explore new cuisines. In her downtime, she enjoys the company of her cat, Toby.
She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Oregon and furthered her education with a Master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Washington.

Her internships focusing on 3D renderings, site analysis, and landscape design bring a diverse skill set to her role at Agave LD.
Outside of her profession, she enjoys playing badminton, immersing herself in different cultures, and enjoying beautiful sunsets.

Measuring Technician
Born and raised in Ciudad de Hidalgo, Michoacan, he has set his roots in Georgetown, Texas.
His work experience includes working at his family's glass shop. Working with custom windows and doors gave him the experience to work at Agave LD. Here, he collects exact property measurements for every project before the design process begins. Thus ensuring that the design is accurate.
Outside work, he enjoys taking long walks at parks and immersing in the outdoors.

Maintenance Manager
Born and raised in Jalisco, Mexico.
He moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue his dreams. He started his career in landscaping as a maintenance field worker and worked his way up from there. He is one of the first employees that Agave LD hired. He has over 2 decades of experience in landscaping. He ensures that our maintenance teams are working up to the level of quality that Agave LD strives for.
In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and grandchildren.
He moved to Austin, Texas, to pursue his dreams. He started his career in landscaping as a maintenance field worker and worked his way up from there. Turf Manager
Born in Zacatecas, Mexico, and raised in Round Rock, Texas, over his teenage years.
His professional journey extends to the construction and landscape maintenance industry.

Grace is an alumna of Abilene Christian University, where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science. With a background in customer service and community engagement, she’s a valuable asset at Agave LD.
She brings more than just people skills to the table; her proficiency extends to her role as an Enhancement Coordinator, taking charge of scheduling, client communication, office reports, material procurement and ensuring smooth operations.
Outside of her professional duties, she enjoys reading and movie-watching, accompanied by her 80-pound German Shepherd and her loving husband. She loves Vietnamese cuisine, with a particular fondness for vermicelli and spring rolls.

He also oversees all our procurement processes, effectively reducing downtime for our crews at vendor locations.
