Marquesa Trail
Marquesa
The Marquesa property in Georgetown, Texas was an amazing project. As clean and simple as the finished product looks, we had some challenges to face. This house sits below the grade of the street, so drainage was an issue. We also noticed a curious deer eating the plant material on the property.
To resolve these issues, we added a drainage system that would move the water away from the house, and added a decorative yet functional dry creek. This creek was finished off with some high-end gravel and moss rock boulders to match the brown tones of the home itself. We also installed deer-resistant plants to ensure the longevity of this landscape.
The homeowners wanted a touch of modern elements to their landscape, keeping them subtle yet noticeable. Mixtures of various types of gravel made this project pop. Steel planters were added, and left unpainted, so they could patina over time. All in all, Marquesa turned out to be a true beauty.
